High School Team Residential Camp
Your camp will be dedicated for those who are interested in playing in college to get a great learning experience. There will be a high level of outstanding professional coaching delivered by the staff of the Jefferson University Women's Soccer team. They will provide you with information on what it takes to perform at the next level, in the areas of academics, nutrition, strength & conditioning and goal setting.
At last years camp we identified four (4) players who are now part of the RAMS 2020 playing roster!!!
The technical skill development of our campers is our top soccer priority. Skill Acquisition will be the highlight of each field session. Players will be exposed to advanced core skills & techniques for shooting, dribbling, fakes & moves, running with the ball, receiving first touch, turning, shielding, heading just to name a few. Our coaches will take players through each step of the techniques to ensure proper development and execution is achieved.
Tactical training is featured in our afternoon sessions when the campers are grouped into their teams. Our dedicated expert staff of coaches will help organise your team into an effective system of play and teach your players their roles within that system. Topics covered include principles of attack and defence, attacking from wide areas, attacking & combination play in the middle and attacking thirds, passing patterns to unlock deep defensive blocks, switching the point of attack, overlapping, inverted fullbacks and when to come in (underlap), defensive organisation, group defending & rest defence. Learn how to play the Rams Way (box 4 & diamond formation). Teams will get to test what they’ve learned in the evening matches.
A specialised goalkeeper camp is held in conjunction with all of our residential camps. Goalkeepers will receive separate instruction from the field players led by Kyle Schumann who serves as goalkeeper coach for the Rams Women’s soccer team. Kyle runs and operates Schu’s Keeper School and is the Director of Goalkeeping at Jefferson University. Proper technique for diving, boxing, carrying, first touch as well as passing with the feet and hand distribution will be taught, One session of pressure training is included for each GK.
The Jefferson University Rams
Campers will also be exposed to the RAMS players who provide a wonderful role model for technical expertise and training habits. Some of our players will be accessible on and off the field. For many campers this is their first true interaction with high-level soccer players and part of an inspirational camp experience.

2019 Camp Testimonial's
In July of 2019 I attended the Thomas Jefferson University Woman's Soccer Residential ID Camp and I had a great experience. The camp introduced me to the university’s environment and campus living. Getting to stay on the campus and also training daily with the coaches and current team players was an unforgettable experience. I learned so much from all the players and coaches and I can truly say I left that camp a much better and smarter player. During the camp we attended classroom sessions which included learning about nutrition and fitness that is required to stay healthy. I learned so much from the coaches about the game of soccer and how they see it. The camp was a perfect combination of learning the game and also having fun and meeting new people. They provided us with dorms which were nice and many other fun activities that made our stay very enjoyable. The camp overall was great, it not only helped my soccer skills but it gave me the opportunity to be seen by the coaching staff and I now plan to attend Jefferson in 2021!
Ryan Matthews class of 2021
Last year at camp I learned a lot about myself as a player from working with the Jefferson coaches. The residential camp was a very competitive and fun environment, with great players and skill all around. Everyone feels welcome and encouraged to be the best athlete they can be !”
Anna Midock Class 2020
The Jefferson Residential ID Camp was a true learning and exciting experience. The camp provided the opportunity to meet and play with girls from all over, and I still keep in contact with them! I am extremely grateful that I got to meet the coaches and some of the girls who currently play on the team and have them train me. They know so much and are willing to share their knowledge. The time with the Jefferson team and the beautiful campus made me fall in love with the school and their program.
I would do it again in a heartbeat”.
